Job Description

A Service Manager:- oversees the operational aspects of a service, ensuring its smooth delivery and continuous improvement. This includes managing the service lifecycle, from launch to sunset, and optimizing processes for efficiency and effectiveness. In essence, they are responsible for the overall health and performance of the service from a business and customer perspective.  Service Lifecycle Management: A Service Manager handles all stages of a service's life, including initial launch, ongoing operation, and eventual retirement.  Process Optimization: They identify and implement improvements to service delivery processes, often using frameworks like ITIL or MOF.  Incident and Problem Management: They oversee the resolution of service-related issues and work to prevent future occurrences.  Change Management: They manage changes to the service, ensuring minimal disruption and proper implementation.  Resource Management: They allocate and manage resources (people, budget, etc.) needed for service delivery.  Performance Monitoring: They track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.  Customer Satisfaction: They ensure the service meets customer needs and expectations.
