Job Description

A Service Head for a four-wheeler dealership (or multi-brand service center) is a senior management role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability. The specific job duties (JD) involve a blend of technical knowledge, management skills, and customer relations. Key Job Description Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily workflow and scheduling of the service center, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and timely completion of all repairs and maintenance tasks. This includes managing the service bays, equipment, and parts inventory.
  • Customer Service: Act as a key liaison between customers and service technicians. Greet customers, explain diagnoses and recommended repairs, provide accurate cost estimates, and keep them informed of any changes or when their vehicle is ready. The ultimate goal is to ensure a positive customer experience and build loyalty.
  • Technical Oversight: Consult with technicians on complex repairs and alternative solutions. While not always hands-on, a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures is essential to ensure quality work and address customer concerns effectively.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and train service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and foster a professional and productive work environment.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety regulations. Monitor repair quality and implement processes to minimize comebacks or defects.
  • Financial Performance: Drive profitability by managing operational costs, optimizing pricing for services and parts, and promoting additional services or cost-saving options to customers.
  • Warranty and Administration: Handle warranty claims and administrative paperwork efficiently and accurately.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Significant prior experience in an automotive service environment, ideally in a management or senior advisory role.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong mechanical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of four-wheeler systems and repair processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with both customers and technical staff.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to quickly diagnose issues and find practical, efficient solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage schedules, workflows, and multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per year
