Job Description

Role Overview

The Service Head will oversee the complete after-sales service operations for Screw Barrels, Pipe Extrusion Lines, and Blown Film Plants. This includes commissioning, breakdown support, customer training, team leadership, and maintaining the highest service standards across domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, commissioning, and performance trials of pipe extrusion lines, blown film plants, and screw-barrel assemblies.
  • Handle troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues across all Extrutech machinery.
  • Guide, mentor, and deploy service engineers for domestic and export service visits.
  • Train technical staff on process parameters, control panel operations, drives, heating systems, screw alignment, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure prompt handling of customer complaints, warranty claims, and escalations.
  • Monitor machine performance at customer sites and recommend process optimization.
  • Prepare detailed installation reports, service logs, breakdown records, and preventive maintenance checklists.
  • Analyze failure trends, repeat issues, and coordinate with Production, QC & Design teams for corrective actions.
  • Plan spare parts requirement, ensure fast dispatch, and maintain service inventory control.
  • Support Sales team with technical inputs during customer discussions and trials.
  • Lead customer training programs for pipe extrusion and blown film process understanding.
  • Ensure service SLAs, response time metrics, and customer satisfaction benchmarks are met.
  • Plan and manage international service visits and remote support for export clients.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Expert knowledge in extrusion machinery pipe plants, blown film lines, screw & barrel systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability for process, electrical, and mechanical issues.
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor young engineers.
  • Excellent communication, customer-handling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC panels, drives (VFD/Servo), heaters, air rings, calibration systems, and die-heads.
  • Ability to travel extensively for domestic and international service assignments.
  • Strong documentation skills and process-oriented mindset.

Qualification & Experience

Education: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Plastic Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 10+ years in servicing extrusion machinery, including pipe plants, blown film lines, and screw-barrel assembly & alignment.
