Job Role

The Regional Service Engineer will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing Low Voltage Variable Frequency Drives (LV VFDs), PLCs, and HMIs across various industrial applications. The role includes providing application engineering support, handling customer complaints, managing spare part orders, and supporting regional service operations. The engineer will also contribute to generating service revenue and ensuring high customer satisfaction through timely and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Service & Application Support

  • Commissioning of LV VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs across diverse industrial applications.
  • Provide application engineering support, including drive parameterization, PLC programming, and HMI configuration.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Drives, PLCs, and HMI hardware/software issues.
  • Deliver customer training on Drives, PLCs, and HMI applications.

Customer Support & Complaint Handling

  • Handle customer complaints with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed failure analysis and service reports.
  • Provide backend technical support to the regional service and sales teams.

Repair Center & Operations

  • Manage repair and replacement of drives, PLCs, and HMI modules/components.
  • Ensure process compliance, documentation, and quality control in repairs.
  • Oversee day-to-day functioning of the regional repair center.

Spare Parts & Order Execution

  • Prepare quotations for repair services and spares.
  • Handle order booking, execution, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to maintain spare availability.

Business Development & Revenue

  • Generate spare parts and service revenue in the assigned region.
  • Promote AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts), service packages, and spares.
  • Support sales with application insights and technical presentations during customer interactions.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

BE / B.Tech in Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunications (or equivalent).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in service, application support, commissioning, or maintenance of Drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electronic hardware and application programming.
  • Prior customer-facing experience in service/application engineering preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of AC Drives (VFDs), PLC programming, and HMI configuration.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and application diagrams.
  • Familiarity with industrial process automation and control systems.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mind set.
  • Effective presentation and training delivery abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills.
