Job Description

Role & responsibilities New Product/features Development Design and development of new products and features for Divisional requirement. Able to develop new concepts for design and evaluate it to suit the product requirement. Able to virtually develop the product on software and evaluate it using analysis software. Should be Proficient in use of 3D Modelling software. Cost reduction and feature development projects Involvement in cost engineering project & saving through optimum & appropriate design and material change for all type of product at plant level with necessary testing, verification & standardization. Involvement in quality improvement projects without cost implication and without compromising product performance. Preparation of Design documents like drawings, calculations etc. To ensure error free drawings documents like manufacturing drawings, component drawings, manufacturing instructions, SAP BOM, advance information for long lead item, highlights of non-standard requirement to cross functional team for development of prototype. Hands on experience of assembly of complete product and preparation of SOPs. Six Sigma Projects, 5S, & Competency enhancement To complete the six-sigma project & implementation, participation to give product specific training to workman, internal & external customers, contract representative. Participation in self-skill development trainings and in 5S activity. To prepare documentation for ISO & IMS Audit. Participation in product type testing & standard documentation To participate in existing product type testing & related activities as per customer requirement, maintaining & distribution of product specific standards. Preferred candidate profile Should be able to lead the development projects. Responsible for independently handling the design challenges, converting customer and engineering requirements into cost effective manufactural mechanical designs for EHV switchgears, prepares final mechanical design as well as detailed analysis reports, Design calculations & requires well-developed problem solving, communication and space visualization skills and good applied mathematical skills. Also require basic computer application (Microsoft Word/Excel) and design skills, a good understanding of manufacturing process and a good knowledge of Engineering principles
