Job Description

Role Overview:

The Senior Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, ensuring efficient vehicle maintenance, repair quality, manpower management, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing a high-volume workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Operations Management

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily workshop activities.
  • Ensure timely service, maintenance, and repair of vehicles/equipment.
  • Monitor workflow to minimize downtime and maximize workshop productivity.
  • Oversee diagnostic procedures and ensure accurate fault identification.

Team Management

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of technicians, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Allocate job tasks based on skills and workload.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet company quality standards.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of service records, job cards, and reports.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement for stocking.
  • Control workshop expenses and optimize resource utilization.
  • Reduce repeat repairs and maintain high first-time fix rate.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with internal teams (operations, fleet, logistics) for vehicle readiness.
  • Communicate timelines, delays, and key issues to stakeholders.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through quality service and timely delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in Automotive/Fleet/Workshop management

    (senior role preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions.
  • Proficiency in workshop management systems and reporting tools.

Education

  • Diploma/Degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
