Job Overview:

As a Senior Terraform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and automated cloud landing zones on AWS and Azure. You will leverage your expertise in Terraform, AWS Control Tower, and Azure’s equivalent governance frameworks to build robust cloud foundations that ensure compliance, security, and operational efficiency.

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade cloud solutions. Experience working with clients in the American banking sector is highly valued, as you will be expected to meet strict regulatory, security, and compliance standards common in financial services environments.

Your contributions will directly support our mission of enabling digital transformation through reliable, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AWS and Azure landing zones using Terraform to establish secure, multi-account, and multi-region cloud environments.

• Implement and configure AWS Control Tower to enforce governance, compliance, and security best practices across AWS accounts.

• Build and manage Azure landing zones, including Azure Policies, Management Groups, and Blueprints, to ensure a secure and scalable cloud foundation.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with Terraform.

• Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to integrate landing zones with CI/CD pipelines and other cloud services.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC, GDPR) and organizational policies through guardrails and governance frameworks.

• Optimize cloud environments for cost, performance, and scalability using best practices and tools like AWS Trusted Advisor or Azure Advisor.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on Terraform and cloud architecture best practices.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and landing zone configurations.

• Stay updated on the latest AWS, Azure, and Terraform features and incorporate them into existing workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on building AWS and Azure landing zones.

• Terraform Expertise: Advanced proficiency in writing modular, reusable, and maintainable Terraform code for AWS and Azure environments.

• AWS Control Tower: Proven experience implementing and managing AWS Control Tower for multi-account governance and compliance.

• Azure Governance: Deep knowledge of Azure landing zone components, including Azure Policies, Management Groups, Blueprints, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

• Cloud Platforms: Strong working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., VPC, IAM, Organizations, CloudTrail, Config) and Azure services (e.g., Virtual Networks, Azure AD, Monitor, Security Center).

• IaC and Automation: Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows, including version control (Git), CI/CD integration, and automation tools.

• Security & Compliance: Familiarity with cloud security best practices and frameworks like NIST, CIS, and Well-Architected Frameworks.

• Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.

• Collaboration Tools: Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS and/or Azure certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).

• Experience with other cloud governance tools like AWS Organizations, Service Control Policies (SCPs), or Azure Policy.

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.

• Familiarity with additional IaC tools like CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Bicep.

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
