Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior Steward is responsible for leading and supporting the stewarding team in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and food preparation areas. The role includes overseeing dishwashing operations, organizing kitchen equipment, and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards. The Senior Steward acts as a liaison between stewarding staff and kitchen or F&B management. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of stewarding staff. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Oversee proper storage and organization of kitchen supplies and cleaning materials. Monitor dishwashing and pot-washing processes, ensuring all items are cleaned and sanitized according to standards. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and requisition items as needed. Train and mentor junior stewards in cleaning procedures, safety practices, and company standards. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, local sanitation laws). Assist in waste management and recycling procedures. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the supervisor. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations during service hours. Lead by example in maintaining personal hygiene and grooming standards. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in kitchen stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior role. Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a team effectively. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). Long periods of standing, bending, and moving around the kitchen area. Exposure to hot, wet, and humid conditions. Work Environment: Commercial kitchen and back-of-house areas in hotels, resorts, or similar establishments. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
