Senior Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel)

At Woliba, we are redefining workplace and employee wellbeing through innovative People Operations automation and holistic wellbeing solutions. We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel) to help us build, maintain, and scale our SaaS platform.

As a Senior Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel), you will:

1. Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and performant backend systems using PHP and the Laravel framework.
2. Contribute to the design and architecture of Woliba’s core SaaS platform to deliver new features and enhancements.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend functionalities with frontend components.
4. Optimize the platform for maximum speed, reliability, and scalability.
5. Stay updated with the latest Laravel and PHP advancements to leverage modern best practices in our development processes.

Backend Development

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support the platform’s functionality and third-party integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Develop robust backend systems for user authentication, reporting, and data management.

System Optimization

• Implement caching, queuing, and other optimization strategies to improve performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues to ensure minimal downtime.

Collaboration and Integration

• Work closely with frontend developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to align technical solutions with business goals.

Testing and Documentation

• Write unit, integration, and functional tests to maintain platform reliability.
• Create clear technical documentation for features, APIs, and workflows.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team’s knowledge-sharing culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with PHP and Laravel.
• Proficiency in database design and management (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with modern development tools and workflows, including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of security best practices and performance optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Experience working on SaaS platforms or workplace wellbeing solutions.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React) and their integration with Laravel.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and serverless architectures.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and microservices.
