Job Summary
The Data Engineer defines, develops, tests, analyzes, and maintains data and data applications. This includes being involved in understanding the business impact of the data and software and creating solutions to realize that impact by researching, designing, documenting, and modifying data specifications throughout the development life cycle. The Data Engineer works as part of a team on a moderately complex product, project or domain comprised of data.

- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, developers, and other team members in the conceptualization and development of new or existing data applications.
- Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of data objectives, deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with internal users and departments.
- Help research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external users and stakeholders.
- create software to enhance functionality and performance of applications.
- Execute testing on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors and general debugging.
- Operate and monitor data in production for performance, maintenance needs, and ongoing support.
- Participate in defining data development plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
- Deploy software through environments to production upon completion of development, testing, and documentation.
- Conduct code reviews based on team’s defined best practices.
- Provide data and software support for bugs, issues, and escalated incident tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues.
- Partner with others in resolving problems with software products or company data systems.
- Recommends new technologies, approaches, and best practices for their team.

Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of data, data application or data science experience required with prior experience within various platforms and languages
- Knowledge of all aspects of data development and product life cycles
- Excellent understanding of data engineering and industry best practices
- Ability to conduct research into data and database-related issues and products
- Ability to conduct research into data-related issues for software products and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of programming for different delivery approaches such as on-premises, web, cloud, and mobile
