Job Description

As a Group Sales Manager at Marriott International, your primary role is to proactively solicit and manage large group/catering opportunities with significant revenue potential. You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and soliciting new group/catering business to achieve personal and property revenue goals. Your efforts will focus on accounts with substantial potential sales revenue, and you will be tasked with developing effective sales plans and actions to maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative food and beverage options. Key Responsibilities: - Target group/catering accounts with proactive solicitation and account saturation. - Partner with group/catering counterparts to effectively manage business opportunities. - Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities that fall outside the parameters of the Event Booking Center. - Identify, qualify, and solicit new group/catering business. - Develop and sell creative catered events. - Understand market trends, competitors" strengths and weaknesses, economic factors, and demand to drive sales. - Close business opportunities based on market conditions and property needs. - Provide exceptional customer service to build and strengthen relationships with customers. - Execute brands" Customer Service Standards and property's Brand Standards. - Collaborate with off-property sales channels and manage relationships with key stakeholders. - Utilize resources such as the intranet for information, conduct site inspections, and create contracts as needed. Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or related areas. OR - 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with no work experience required.
