Senior Quality Engineer

As a Senior Quality Engineer at NRC Group, a 35-year-old ASME U stamp Certified Sheet Metal fabrication Company, your role will involve leading and executing quality assurance processes specific to sheet metal fabrication. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing quality control plans, inspection procedures, and process documentation such as FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plans. - Monitoring tool wear, dimensional accuracy, and tool life to ensure high stamping quality. - Overseeing and managing quality control processes related to press tools, dies, and stamped components. - Conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections of tooling components. - Monitoring production processes to identify opportunities for quality improvements and cost reduction. - Performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions for customer complaints and internal defects. - Collaborating with design, production, and supply chain teams to uphold product quality throughout manufacturing stages. - Evaluating and auditing suppliers for compliance with quality standards and supporting supplier development initiatives. - Conducting internal quality audits and maintaining quality metrics for management reporting. - Utilizing tools like 8D, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, SPC, MSA, and Six Sigma techniques. - Driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. - Training and mentoring junior quality engineers and inspectors. Qualifications & Experience: - Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - NDT Level II or Welding Inspection Certification. - 6-10 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, Press tool components, or a similar manufacturing environment. - Familiarity with manufacturing standards and tolerances for sheet metal. - Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma practices. - Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. - Experience in leading quality audits and resolving customer complaints.
