Role & responsibilities Study customer drawings/specifications and convert them into manufacturable components. Prepare and validate BOMs, process flows, and routing sheets for new products. Coordinate prototyping, sample development, and trials with production, QA, and suppliers. Work closely with customers and internal teams to gather feedback and implement improvements. Ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DQF (Design Quality Feedback) principles. Support tool design, jig/fixture development, and part validation activities. Document engineering changes and maintain design revision history. Lead cost estimation and feasibility analysis for RFQs and new parts. Drive continuous improvements in new product lead time and quality. Preferred candidate profile Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering. 310 years of experience in NPD or design & development within the sheet metal/fabrication industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or similar 2D/3D design software). Knowledge of sheet metal processes like shearing, punching, bending, welding, and powder coating. Strong understanding of GD&T, material selection, and manufacturing standards. Hands-on approach, with strong coordination, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Exposure to APQP, PPAP, and FMEA will be an added advantage.
