Senior QA Test Engineer

Job Overview:
The Senior QA Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products through meticulous testing and process improvement. They lead testing efforts, design test strategies, and mentor junior QA team members while collaborating closely with development, product, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and automated testing.
• Execute manual and automated tests to identify, document, and track defects using industry-standard bug tracking tools.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with quality standards.
• Lead efforts in defining QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing technical support and training as needed.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve software design, functionality, and performance.
• Participate in release planning, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with the latest QA tools, technologies, and trends, and recommend their adoption where beneficial.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in QA testing, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead QA role.
• Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
• Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Quality Center).
• Solid understanding of performance, security, and integration testing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
