Purpose of the Position

The Senior Lead – Program Manager will provide strategic direction and operational leadership for Progressive Foundation’s programs in health, nutrition, and education. This role demands an accomplished development professional with demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale public health or education programs, strong leadership abilities, and proven capacity to deliver measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of health, nutrition, and education programs.
• Align program implementation with organizational goals, government priorities, and donor requirements.
• Ensure programmatic innovation and scalability.

Program Management & Execution

• Oversee end-to-end program delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage multi-level teams across state, district, and block levels.
• Monitor program progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and sustain partnerships with government bodies, donors, and partner organizations.
• Represent the organization in high-level meetings, forums, and advocacy platforms.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

• Provide visionary leadership to program teams, ensuring accountability and high performance.
• Mentor and build capacities of mid-level managers and frontline teams.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy work culture.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

• Ensure robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are integrated into all programs.
• Use evidence and data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve program outcomes.

Communication & Reporting

• Prepare and present program reports for donors, government partners, and senior management.
• Effectively communicate program results and impact stories internally and externally.

Resource Management

• Oversee program budgets, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
• Contribute to proposal development and resource mobilization efforts.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Master’s degree in

  Social Work (MSW), Public Health (MPH), Development Studies, or related fields

  .

• 11–12 years of progressive experience

  in NGOs or development organizations, with significant exposure to public health, nutrition, or education programs.
• Demonstrated experience managing

  large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects

  in the development sector.
• Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities in

  English and Hindi

  .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables in complex program environments.
• High adaptability, people skills, and ability to work under pressure.

Travel Requirement

• Frequent travel within the state and districts, with occasional inter-state travel as required.
