Senior Product Designer

About the Team:

The Product Design team at Flipkart, is a part of the multidisciplinary OneDesign team which has product designers, creative designers, content designers, and user researchers. We work on products that empower our users to push the boundaries of customers' shopping experience. Informed by research and data, solutions to complex needs are built iteratively toward Flipkart's vision. User Experience is a key driving force for our products in Flipkart and we are constantly striving to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions towards directing business way-forwards, product strategy and more immediately design.

As a part of the product design team, we own the design from start to finish and we collaborate with a myriad of developers, product managers, business and marketing, content strategists, and researchers to deliver the best possible experience. We are also solving for the next 200 million users of 'Bharat' by understanding their internet and shopping behavior and needs such as vernacular and voice solutions.

About the Role:

Product Designer III will be responsible for using design thinking to solve complex problems & ship high-fidelity designs for new features & prototype solutions.

You will be working collaboratively with cross-functional partners like product management, engineering and business in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:

• Work on high priority and high visibility complex product designs.
• Single-handedly drive designs and oversee the strategic and tactical deliverables related to that project.
• Coordinate and plan with other functions. Manage stakeholder expectations.
• Identifying the appropriate UX methods and tools to use depending on project constraints.
• Contribute to our growing design system of patterns in an effort to cultivate a cohesive look and feel, and user experience across the entire Flipkart platform.
• Coach, provide guidance and feedback to designers around design quality.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelors or Masters in Design, HCI, Psychology or any other related field with a minimum 6 years of experience in Product design or UX roles.
• Empathy and advocacy for users, in all areas of work.
• Deep understanding of the design process, experience using UX prototyping tools, as well as relevant fundamental knowledge of front-end technologies to understand the constraints of the design.
• Extraordinary UI design abilities that can be demonstrated through current projects.
• Thinking in terms of design systems and reusable components.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
