Role Summary:

Senior Performance Engineering SME

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Engineering & Optimization:

• Analyze application architecture and code to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.
• Propose and implement solutions for enhancing application speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Drive

  performance tuning

  across all layers of the application (code, database, infrastructure).

Code Profiling & Static Code Reviews:

• Use

  code profiling tools (e.g., JProfiler, YourKit)

  to monitor and profile live and test applications.
• Conduct thorough

  static code reviews

  to detect and resolve performance anti-patterns and inefficiencies early in the development lifecycle.

Load & Stress Testing:

• Design and execute

  load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing

  strategies.
• Use

  LoadRunner

  or similar load testing tools to simulate real-world usage and identify system limits.
• Analyze test results to measure application performance under peak loads.

Monitoring & Diagnostics:

• Implement and maintain

  application performance monitoring (APM) tools, preferably Dynatrace

  , to continuously track application performance.
• Perform

  root cause analysis

  for production and non-production issues.
• Analyze logs and telemetry data for debugging and optimization insights.

Collaboration & Best Practices:

• Work closely with

  developers, testers, DevOps, and architects

  to implement performance improvements.
• Establish

  performance engineering best practices

  , guidelines, and processes across the teams.
• Mentor junior team members and guide them in performance testing and tuning methodologies.

Required Technical Skills:

• Performance Engineering:

  End-to-end application performance optimization expertise.

• Profiling Tools:

  Hands-on with

  JProfiler, YourKit

  , or similar.

• Load Testing Tools:

  LoadRunner

  , JMeter, or Gatling.

• Application Monitoring:

  Expertise in

  Dynatrace

  ; familiarity with other APM tools like AppDynamics or New Relic is a plus.

• Code Analysis:

  Proficiency in

  static and dynamic code analysis

  for performance improvements.

• Troubleshooting:

  Strong ability in

  log analysis, root cause diagnostics, and performance debugging

• Programming Background:

  Solid foundation in software development using Java/.NET or similar enterprise technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in

  performance engineering, software development, or quality engineering roles.

• Certifications in performance testing tools or APM solutions are a plus.
• Experience with cloud-native applications and microservices architecture is desirable.
