Job Description

Job Title: Senior Officer - Project

Job Location: Sangrur, Punjab

Core Responsibilities

1. Government Liaison

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local government departments (e.g. Block Development Office, DWSS, Panchayats, ULBs).
  • Facilitate approvals, permissions, and coordination required for project implementation.
  • Represent the project in government meetings, reviews, and consultations.

2. Project Management

  • Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities as per agreed timelines and targets.
  • Supervise field teams to ensure quality delivery of interventions.
  • Identify risks and challenges; proactively resolve on-ground operational issues.
  • Conduct regular reviews and field visits to track progress.

3. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and submit timely reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Document best practices, case studies, and field learnings.
  • Maintain project records, MIS data, and field documentation systematically.

4. Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Engage with community leaders, SHGs, waste worker groups, and other local stakeholders to ensure participation and ownership.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, trainings, and IEC activities as required.

Qualification and Experience

  • Graduate in Social Work, Rural Development, Environment, or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in development projects, preferably in waste management, livelihood, or government liaison roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Punjabi fluently is mandatory.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the block and nearby areas.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting formats.
  • Knowing how to drive and having a two-wheeler is also mandatory
