Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager – Power Electronics to lead our Power Electronics team focused on the design and development of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) at our India Design Centre (IDC). This role combines technical leadership with people management responsibilities and offers the opportunity to shape the future of cutting-edge power electronics solutions. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert who also excels at mentoring and developing high-performing teams. Job Responsibilities Team Leadership & People Management Lead, build, and develop a world-class Power Electronics Engineering team focused on VFD product and solution development. Manage all aspects of people leadership, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and professional development. Foster a high-performance, innovation-driven culture within the team. Provide ongoing feedback, conduct performance reviews, and align individual goals with organizational objectives. Technical & Project Oversight Oversee the full lifecycle of VFD product development, from concept to production handover. Ensure excellence in design and analysis of power electronics systems, maintaining a high standard of technical quality. Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical collaboration between global teams and IDC. Act as the technical interface with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Customers. Lead project reviews and approve technical deliverables, ensuring adherence to time, cost, and quality targets. Monitor resource planning and utilization across multiple projects. Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration Contribute to the organization's engineering maturity and competency development. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to power electronics and VFDs. Represent the company at technical forums, seminars, and workshops as a speaker and participant. Maintain strong external networks with academia, professional bodies, and industry forums to stay abreast of technical developments. Background & Skills The ideal candidate possesses these skills. Bachelor’s degree in Power Electronics or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 14–18 years of engineering experience in Power Electronics, with strong exposure to product development. Minimum 5 years of proven people leadership experience, preferably in a global organization. Strong background in NPD (New Product Development) and/or product engineering with agile scrum framework. Exposure to control electronics design is a plus. Experience in working with international teams, especially in Europe or the US Expertise in power electronics design, especially for VFDs or high-power AC drive systems. Understanding of lifecycle support for electronic products. Familiarity with cross-disciplinary collaboration (e.g., mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams). Hands-on approach with the ability to guide, mentor, and challenge design engineers.
