Identify and evaluate potential suppliers in India for respective commodity
Asses new suppliers on their capability in-terms of quality, supply, innovation, development and their suitability for supplying to Daimler
Work closely with internal CFT (R&D, Projects, Supplier Management, Cost Engineering and Finance) and provide necessary information relevant to the individual projects
Understand the technology available/under development in India (relevant to commodity) and accordingly guide the CFT on localization potential
Monitor various developments in the respective commodity space both in India and globally and update the manage

ment on regular basis

Develop sourcing strategy for the respective commodity
Interface with global procurement teams of Daimler and explore opportunities for sourcing of components of the respective commodity in India
Identify, finalize supplier set and execute NDA for potential new suppliers. Send out RFQ with relevant technical and commercial information
Interface with R&D on technical feasibility of specifications
Identify suppliers and finalize commercials for proto parts’ requirement
Compare quotations from suppliers. Develop negotiation strategy in consultation with Cost Engineering. Finalize part cost, tooling cost/development cost and commercial terms & conditions with suppliers
Identify Cost optimization and VA/VE potential
Propose suitable supplier to the management for awarding of business based on quote comparison and negotiations and take approval
Release Letter of Intent/ Development agreement/Letter of Nomination /Purchase Orders after due approval, as applicable
Work on continuous cost optimization for parts that are already under series supply.
Settle raw material compensation to the suppliers based on market trend
Negotiate long terms agreements with suppliers
Manage supplier relationship
