Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Labour Planning & Deployment

Develop and implement workforce plans in coordination with project managers and site engineers.
Forecast labour requirements based on project timelines and workloads.
Mobilize and demobilize labour across multiple sites in accordance with project needs.
Maintain optimal labour strength to avoid underutilization or shortages.

2. Labour Vendor & Contractor Management

Liaise with labour contractors and subcontractors to source skilled and unskilled workforce.
Negotiate terms, agreements, and rates with labour suppliers.
Ensure contractor compliance with labour laws, safety standards, and contractual obligations.

3. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national labour laws (e.g., CLRA, BOCW, ESI, PF).
Maintain accurate records of labour attendance, wages, ESI/PF contributions, and statutory documentation.
Coordinate with legal and HR teams during inspections or audits.

4. Labour Welfare & Productivity

Oversee accommodation, transportation, and welfare facilities for labourers.
Implement programs to improve labour productivity, engagement, and retention.
Address and resolve labour grievances in a timely and effective manner.

5. Coordination & Reporting

Collaborate with site managers, HR teams, and safety officers to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor and report on labour costs, productivity metrics, and workforce-related risks.
Prepare weekly/monthly dashboards on manpower status and trends.
