Senior Lead Network Engineer

Position Title: Network Lead

Department: IT/Network Services

Reports To: IT Manager/Network Manager

Mandatory Location: Bangalore

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design and Implementation:
• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, etc.).
• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.).
• Should have experience in Cisco, FortiGate devices, Aruba, HPE etc.
• Should have knowledge in Switching, Routing, Dynamic routing like BGP, OSPF, RIP etc.,
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages, providing timely and effective resolution.
• Should have experience in any monitoring tool like OP manager, What’s up gold, SolarWinds etc.,
• Security:
• Implement and manage security measures for network protection, including firewalls, access controls, and VPNs.
• Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Should be experience in handling firewall like FortiGate, cisco ASA, Meraki, Sophos etc.,
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and service records.
• Prepare and present reports on network performance and security status.
• User Support:
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.
• Manage and respond to service tickets related to network issues.
• Vendor Management:
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to ensure network equipment and services are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
• Evaluate new technologies and products and make recommendations for network improvements.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 10 to 14 years of experience as a Network Administrator/Lead or in a similar role.
• Proven experience in network administration and architecture.
• Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
• Hands-on experience with hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, FortiGate, Sophos) and software (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Manage Enginee).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances.
• Certifications:
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.
