Senior Guidewire Developer (5+ years of experience of developing Guidewire)

For the Policy and Billing department: Responsible for designing, developing, configuring, testing and documenting applications, integrations, tools, systems and components for Guidewire based on project or change request specifications. Responsible for the production support of internally developed and third-party applications, processes and reports. Acts as an application owner for incident management, technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, correction of software defects, and production application validation. Assist in the design and maintenance of existing software. Follows standard troubleshooting and development procedures using various tools. May assist with complex incident management situations.
Responsibilities
System Lifecycle Management:
Monitor system obsolescence, review and implement patches/upgrades, and ensure documentation for administrators and users.Problem Resolution & Prevention:
Own the problem management process, identify and resolve application/data/tool issues, track and document resolutions, and develop preventative measures.Technical Design & Quality Assurance:
Create and review technical design documents, perform peer reviews for junior developers, ensure conformity to standards, and assist with analysis and design for new or existing systems.Vendor and Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as a liaison with third-party vendors and raise awareness of issues and resolutions with customers and internal personnel.Project Leadership & Mentorship:
Serve as a project leader, verify changes through testing, and mentor less experienced developers.Standards & Best Practices:
Work with the architecture group to set and implement design and development standards and participate in related groups/committees.Feasibility & Cost Analysis:
Evaluate user requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with existing systems.
Must Haves:
- Strong experience working with
Policy and Billing efforts
- 5+ years of Guidewire development (MUST HAVE strong
integration
experience, not just configuration) Guidewire Certified
- Experience with
Guidewire 9
or higher (client is currently on v9) - Must be curious thinkers that understand configurations to not break something prewritten when coding.
- Experience with an
Agile
environment (working in 2-week sprints) - Excellent English communication (both verbal and written)
Pluses:
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud
- Can code with React, Angular, HTML, XML, and/or JavaScript
- Experience testing scripts, test harnesses, programs, and/or drivers to run automated functional and performance tests
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Combinations of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Continuous learning, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy, is required.
- Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.
