The Opportunity

Arup Façades is an enthusiastic, dedicated and energetic, multi-disciplinary team of façade designers and engineers. We are a leading consultancy in our space both locally and internationally and our team includes engineers, technical specialists, building physicists and architects, all of whom share a passionate interest in cladding design. Our creativity and technical expertise allow us to take on ambitious projects that few companies can deliver.We have an opportunity for a talented Senior Facade Access Consultant to join our team, the successful candidate will become a permanent member of our creative, friendly team and will work on a variety of exciting projects, both in the India and Internationally. You will have excellent technical, and software skills and enjoy working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, supporting projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Provide concept and detailed design work across a broad range of projects within façade access, including structural, mechanical, architectural and building envelope related fields. Manage post-tender reviews, site inspections and report writingLead the technical / design input on such projects, ensuring work quality is maintained at expected standard. Undertaking design yourself, you will use your knowledge and experience to support other team members.Working directly with our clients, architects, contractors and façade industry suppliers with a wareness of project management and w orking with multi-disciplinary teams.Technical input on a broad range of local & international projects, façade access related materials and designs . Receiving support from our senior team members and providing support to the junior team membersAwareness of Façade Access related legislative requirements and other regulations governing Occupational Health and Safety and assist in ensuring these are adhered to within the office and on all projects and working knowledge of Local Codes and Standards, and where appropriate international codes and standards, applicable to Building Maintenance Units, rope access, safety management and other aspects of building access.Inspections of buildings, roofs, safety line systems, building maintenance units. Develop strong communication links within the façade access team and related disciplines.Managing the time, quality and performance of projects including monitoring project budgets. Attending meetings and communicate with clients and design disciplines to establish their needs with extending relationships with existing key clients to enable an expansion of business opportunities for the team.

If this role right for you?

  • Ideal Chartered Engineer, or Eligibility for Chartership with the Institute of Engineers, or chartership with equivalent associations in other countries or professional accreditation/registration equivalent in qualified professional area with knowledge and consulting and technical experience in facades or building structures engineering and related areas.
  • Ability to independently undertake project and technical analyses, and report on results with experience in the consulting engineering environment, including the ability to advise clients on cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Software skills – Word, Excell, Publisher, Bluebeam AutoCAD and Sketchup or equivalent (i.e. Rhino, Revit, Bentley MicroStation, Grasshopper)
  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments and develop and maintain successful client relationships with good planning and organizational skills.
