Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive electrical components, including converters, inverters, and electrical systems for HVAC and transport refrigeration applications.
• Prepare detailed specifications, technical drawings, and application documents for electrical and power electronic components.
• Develop and execute DFMEA, DVPR, test plans, and qualification programs for components.
• Coordinate with external agencies for regulatory testing, including HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing.
• Perform modeling and simulation of electrical components using tools like Matlab/Dymola.
• Investigate product quality and reliability issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend permanent corrective actions.
• Work within structured NPD processes, meeting milestone deliverables and adhering to industry standards.
• Apply systematic problem-solving methodologies (6 Sigma) to improve product performance and quality.
• Collaborate with hardware design teams and utilize tools like Altium for circuit and PCB design.
• Maintain product data and documentation in PLM systems (e.g., Windchill).
  

Required Skills

• Proven experience in the design and development of electrical and power electronic components (e.g., converters, inverters, battery chargers).
• Hands-on expertise in temperature sensors, actuators, solenoids, motors, drives, batteries, and analog/protection circuit design.
• Strong knowledge of embedded microprocessor control systems and controller hardware.
• Experience in test plan development, data interpretation, and corrective action implementation.
• Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools (Matlab, Dymola).
• Knowledge of PLM systems and Windchill for product lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with hardware design tools such as Altium.
• Prior experience in automotive or industrial machinery environments is an advantage.
