· Collaborate with design, product development, and factory teams to establish the commercial direction for men’s and women’s leather accessories through research, mood boards, and seasonal briefs.
· Oversee the complete product lifecycle—from concept, sketching, and sample development to production handover—ensuring alignment with commercial and artistic objectives.
· Stay updated on market and industry trends, and interpret these into actionable design and development strategies.
· Work closely with suppliers and sample teams to develop prototypes, monitor material sourcing, and ensure timely delivery of all components (leather, hardware, lining, etc.).
· Manage the workflow for sample approvals, including pattern review, mock-ups, pilot runs, and quality inspections at all stages.
· Maintain strict adherence to time and action plans, ensuring all customer and buyer queries are addressed promptly and all updates are documented in real time.
· Initiate and track product costing and pricing during the sample development process, providing regular analysis and reports to management.
· Ensure all design cards, break-up sheets, and product lifecycle documentation are completed accurately and on time.
· Maintain proactive communication with buyers, ensuring timely feedback, approvals, and resolution of any amendments or queries.
· Oversee the dispatch and tracking of all samples and ensure buyer feedback is obtained within stipulated timelines.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in product development, design, or merchandising within the leather goods or accessories sector.
· Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field; advanced training in illustration and visual communication is an advantage.
· Strong creative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Word, and Excel.
· Excellent communication, project management, and people skills.
· In-depth knowledge of materials, hardware, leather, and handbag construction.
· Strong commercial acumen and a keen sense of fashion trends.
