One of our portfolio companies is looking for a Book Editor to help shape impactful manuscripts across genres from compelling non-fiction to insightful business books and thought leadership titles. You'll work closely with authors, ghostwriters, and creative teams to ensure every book we publish is polished, powerful, and publish-ready.

Manuscript Editing & Development
Edit book manuscripts for clarity, tone, grammar, structure, and flow
Collaborate with authors and ghostwriters to shape early drafts into publishable content
Ensure consistency in voice, messaging, and formatting across chapters
Perform line editing, developmental editing, and light copyediting as needed
Publishing & Production Support
Prepare final manuscripts for print and digital publishing
Coordinate with design and formatting teams on layout, typesetting, and final proofing
Help build style guides and editorial frameworks for scalable publishing workflows
Content Strategy & Quality Control
Participate in author kickoffs, outline planning, and editorial brainstorms
Offer feedback on titles, subtitles, and positioning for maximum market appeal
Conduct light research or fact-checking to ensure manuscript accuracy
5–10 years of editorial experience (publishing houses, agencies, freelance projects — all count!)
Excellent command of written English, grammar, and narrative structure
A portfolio of edited content — ideally long-form like books, essays, or whitepapers
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong editorial judgment and sensitivity to different author voices and tones
Extra points for a love of nonfiction, branding, or personal development literature
