About the Role
Are you a seasoned editorial leader with a sharp eye for narrative, structure, and storytelling excellence?
One of our portfolio companies is seeking an Editor-in-Chief to head their editorial team and uphold the highest quality standards in nonfiction publishing. This role is ideal for someone with deep publishing experience and a passion for turning complex ideas into elegant, world-class books.
As Editor-in-Chief, you’ll be the final authority before a manuscript is delivered to our elite clientele — entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, TEDx speakers, and thought leaders. You’ll lead our team of editors and writers, set editorial benchmarks, and ensure every manuscript reflects the polish, clarity, and power our brand stands for.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the voice and editorial vision of a high-end publishing agency at the top of its game.
What You'll Do
Editorial Leadership & Oversight
Review and approve all manuscripts before client delivery.
Maintain and enforce a signature editorial standard across all books.
Personally step in to rewrite or fix content when needed.
Develop a structured editorial review process that ensures consistency and excellence.
Team Development & Mentorship
Mentor and coach writers and editors to elevate their craft.
Conduct editorial training, quality checks, and feedback sessions.
Onboard and guide new editorial hires in process and tone.
Client-Centric Editing
Oversee narrative and structural alignment with client expectations.
Collaborate with lead writers and project managers to troubleshoot issues.
Handle sensitive manuscripts with tact, precision, and diplomacy.
Strategic Vision
Set the tone, style, and editorial voice for British Noble Press’s growing portfolio.
Contribute to content strategy, genre expansion, and innovation in nonfiction storytelling.
Work closely with the founder to position the brand as the gold standard in ghostwriting.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: At least 5 years in senior roles like book editing, or writing. Senior-level editorial experience at a major publisher or book writing agency is strongly preferred.
Narrative Intelligence: Deep understanding of fiction/nonfiction structure, logic, and storytelling dynamics.
Hands-on Editing: Ability to refine tone, tighten prose, and improve pacing across long-form manuscripts.
Leadership: Proven experience mentoring editorial teams and maintaining standards across multiple projects.
Client Communication: Confident in working with high-profile clients and handling editorial feedback with clarity and professionalism.
Language Mastery: Native-level proficiency in English, with exceptional command over structure, grammar, and clarity.
