Role Overview

Backend Developer

hands-on engineering role


Responsibilities

  • Design and build 

    scalable backend services

     using 

    Node.js (NestJS preferred)

  • Develop secure, well-structured 

    REST APIs

     for web and AI-driven workflows
  • Implement 

    event-driven and async processing

     (queues, workers, schedulers)
  • Work with 

    datastores

     such as Cosmos DB / PostgreSQL / Redis
  • Integrate third-party services (SMS, email, voice, notifications, webhooks)
  • Handle 

    multi-tenant architecture

    , role-based access, and data isolation
  • Implement 

    security best practices

     for PHI (encryption, access controls)
  • Collaborate closely with frontend, AI/ML, and product teams
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and deployment pipelines


Required Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in 

    backend development

  • Strong proficiency in 

    Node.js

     (NestJS / Express)
  • Experience building 

    production APIs

  • Solid understanding of 

    databases

     (SQL or NoSQL)
  • Familiarity with 

    cloud platforms

     (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience with 

    async systems

    , background jobs, or queues
  • Good grasp of 

    authentication & authorization

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code


Good to Have

  • Experience with 

    healthcare or regulated systems

  • Experience with 

    Redis

    , queues, or pub/sub systems
  • Exposure to 

    event-driven architectures

  • Experience with 

    Docker / CI-CD

  • Familiarity with 

    AI-powered systems

     or LLM integrations
