Role Description

Working as a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will join our growing Platform team focused on modernising Mott MacDonald’s delivery to our clients through cross-cutting technology. grounded.You will be part of an exciting team responsible for developing our cloud-based webinterface, supporting advanced analytics, complex mapping and immersive visualisation. Ourplatform is currently used by our largest clients across the world, and you’ll be working withour team to scale it. We are seeking a demonstrable ability to create robust back-endfunctionality and high-performance systems with .NET/C# and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

The specific duties include:

Improve society outcomes by enhancing the performance of physical infrastructure
Work with large scale, real-time data flows and storage (1B+ data points / day).
Further develop your skills across a modern technology stack and architecture

Key Skills

Our ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science or software engineering and related experience in a similar role in web-based software development. You will need to be experienced in .NET C# and modern software development as well as understand scaling software systems attention to detail.

Essential Skills And Experience Required

Microservice, serverless & event driven development
Modern .NET API development (5+ years)
Strong SQL & database design experience
Familiarity with Cloud PaaS systems in Azure & AWS
Unit testing & integration testing
Operating as a member of a SCRUM/agile team
Kubernetes experience preferred
Experience with Linux servers preferred

Soft Skills

High attention to detail

Emphasis on building secure systems
Solid written and verbal communication
Conduct detailed and thorough peer code reviews
