Senior Application Engineer

The job responsibilities for this position include collaborating with design, software, and commissioning teams to validate automation systems. You will need to effectively communicate with customers to understand project requirements, present solutions, and provide regular updates. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting technical presentations and demonstrations during webinars, seminars, and technology days to showcase automation and motion control capabilities. In terms of project execution and control, you will coordinate with EU and OEM during FAT/SAT phases to ensure system acceptance. You will also be required to review customer application blueprints, monitor project execution in collaboration with OEM & EU, and configure, troubleshoot, and validate PLCs, Motion, and Servo systems during testing. Your role will involve integrating motion control hardware and software into automation systems, performing software/hardware verification, installation, and commissioning of automation projects for OEMs within the stipulated time. Furthermore, you will collaborate with internal departments of EU and OEMs to ensure efficient execution and positioning of project applications, assist in system integration, support troubleshooting during startup and commissioning, and create and maintain comprehensive documentation including test plans, protocols, and reports. You will also be responsible for conducting testing and debugging of automation and motion control systems to ensure they meet performance, safety, and quality standards. In terms of technical support and reporting, you will prepare technical documentation including control architecture, wiring diagrams, and SOPs. You will also conduct training programs and OJT for OEM/EU's engineers to enhance their knowledge and understanding of OMRON products. The job requirements for this position include a B.E. in Electronics and Communication/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering, along with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in application programming, installation, and commissioning of automation products like PLC, Servo & Motion Controller. Knowledge of Safety & Vision System will give you an added advantage. Experience in industrial automation products, preferably in battery/EV or similar high-tech manufacturing, is preferred. Specific skills required for this role include experience in programming, installation, and commissioning of PLC, Motion, Servo, Machine Vision & Safety solution, knowledge of industrial networking and communications like Device Net, Modbus, Profi-bus, Profi-net, Ethernet, EtherCAT, good communication & presentation skills with an eye for details, and being target-oriented and dedicated to putting in extra hours if needed on assignments.,
