Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely compliance with all statutory requirements such as GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other applicable laws.
• Filing of GST returns-GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9-and TDS returns correctly within due dates.
• Maintain statutory audits and assist in coordination with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Taxation and Financial Reporting

• Manage GST computations, input/output reconciliation, and TDS deductions for vendors and employees.
• Prepare and file income tax returns, advance tax computations, and support tax planning strategies.
• Track changes in tax laws and update the internal processes accordingly.

Accounting and Bookkeeping

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities: journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and trial balance.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.
• Maintain and reconcile accounts payable/receivable, bank accounts, and vendor payments.

Payroll and Expense Management

• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring that PF, ESI, TDS, and other statutory salary deductions comply with the law in force.
• Track expenses and manage employee reimbursements; maintain appropriate expense recording.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to enable the management for decision making.
• Offer actionable advice concerning cost control, budgeting, and management of cash flow.
• Ensure support extending to financial forecasting and long-term strategic financial planning.

Key Skills and Qualification

• Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines; CA/CS-Intermediate or qualified will be preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance, preferably in a startup or MSME environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software such as Tally, Strong knowledge of GST laws, TDS provisions, Income Tax Act, and other Indian regulatory frameworks. Advanced level in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
