Senior Accountant – Job Description

Location: Chandigarh
Company: AV Engineers Pvt Ltd
Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000/month (depending on experience and skills)
Experience Required: ~6-8 years in accounting / taxation / compliance

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee full cycle of accounting: ledger entries, accounts payable & receivable, bank reconciliation, etc.
• Preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GST reconciliations), ensure compliance with GST law.
• Compute, prepare & file Income Tax (ITR) for the company, ensure all tax deductions are accounted (TDS, etc.).
• Compute and manage TDS returns and ensure timely payments.
• Assist with audits & financial statements. Prepare schedules for audit.
• Manage monthly / quarterly / annual closing of accounts.
• Preparation of balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow statements.
• Reconciliation of inter-company / vendor / customer accounts.
• Prepare and analyse management reports, budgets, forecasts.
• Work with Chartered Accountant / outsourced tax consultants for any statutory / regulatory matters.
• Maintain proper documentation for all tax, GST, accounting records.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, labour laws, company policies.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting (B.Com / M.Com) or similar.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation.
• Strong knowledge of GST law, procedures, return-filing, reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of Income Tax, TDS, tax return filing.
• Hands on experience with accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP etc.).
• Good communication skills; ability to coordinate with CAs, internal / external auditors.
• Attention to detail; accuracy is critical.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
