Secondary Logistics Head - West2

Purpose/Objective

To lead and oversee the entire secondary logistics function across regions, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and sustainable distribution of cement products. The role will focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to optimize supply chain performance in alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership - Develop and implement nationwide strategies for secondary logistics operations, ensuring scalability and efficiency. - Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality and compliance with sustainability standards. Operational Oversight - Monitor and manage regional logistics teams, ensuring smooth transportation, warehousing, and dispatch operations. - Oversee vendor and transport contractor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to SLAs. Performance Management - Define and track KPIs such as OTD (On-Time Delivery), TAT (Turnaround Time), and cost per ton. - Utilize analytics and dashboards to identify gaps and implement corrective actions. Stakeholder Collaboration - Coordinate with Sales, Plant Logistics Heads, and S&OP teams for seamless order execution. - Maintain strong relationships with external partners, including transport contractors and regulatory bodies. Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental norms. - Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies across the logistics network. Team Development - Mentor and develop regional logistics managers and officers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Technical Competencies

Proficiency in WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.,Data analytics and KPI tracking for logistics.,Knowledge of compliance and industry standards.,Cost control and process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma).

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification & Experience- Education: Master’s degree / MBA in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Business Administration. - Experience: 10–15 years in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within cement or manufacturing industry.
