Job Description: School Principal
Location: Chitravad, Gujarat
Reporting To: Director – Academics (Schools)
Role Overview
The School Principal is responsible for the overall academic leadership, administration, and operational management of the school. The role ensures smooth functioning of academics, admissions, staff management, budgeting, compliance, and stakeholder engagement in alignment with the organization’s vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Administrative Leadership
Overall responsibility for managing and coordinating academic and administrative affairs of the school.
Implement academic systems, policies, and procedures to monitor and improve school performance.
Ensure successful conduct of internal and external examinations.
Perform teaching duties as required.
Staff Management
Plan workforce requirements and coordinate with HR for recruitment, selection, and induction of staff.
Prepare timetables and allocate academic workload to teaching staff.
Maintain discipline and ensure a positive school culture among staff and students.
Maintain cordial working relationships with teaching, non-teaching, and support staff.
Admissions & Fee Management
Manage the end-to-end student admission process in line with the admissions strategy.
Ensure timely and effective collection of school fees.
Manage and maintain accurate student administrative records.
Finance, Budgeting & Assets
Provide key inputs for school budgeting in coordination with the Finance & Accounts department.
Oversee ordering of lab consumables and resources, ensuring optimal utilization and minimal wastage.
Act as custodian of all movable and immovable school assets to prevent loss or misuse.
Operations & Vendor Management
Manage outsourcing relationships with service providers such as transport, food services, housekeeping, security, uniforms, stationery, and tours.
Ensure compliance with operational standards and service quality.
Events, Communication & Representation
Plan, manage, and execute all on-site and off-site school events (Annual Day, Picnics, Grandparents Day, etc.).
Manage school publications and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality benchmarks.
Represent the school at administrative meetings and liaise with parents, community members, and other institutions.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Ensure timely preparation and submission of internal and external reports.
Identify gaps or gray areas in existing processes and initiate corrective actions.
Promote the effective use of technology across academic and administrative functions.
Contribute to organization-wide initiatives and act as a change catalyst.
Perform additional responsibilities as delegated by management in line with the organization’s mission, vision, and guiding principles.
Essential Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Arts or Science
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience
Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in a school setup
Desirable Qualifications
5+ years of experience as Vice Principal or Principal in a reputed school
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
