About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Scala Developer with strong experience in Akka Streams and Microservices to be part of our core development team. This role involves building scalable, event-driven applications and contributing to transformation initiatives in a hybrid working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver microservices-based solutions using Scala and Akka.
Implement event-driven architectures with Akka Streams, GRPC, and Protocol Buffers.
Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices for building robust applications.
Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native concepts for deployment.
Collaborate across teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Support automation with scripting (Batch, Bash).
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployments on cloud platforms (preferably AWS).

Must-Have Skills

Core Programming

4–8 years of hands-on Scala development
Strong expertise with Akka Framework and Akka Streams
Experience in TDD

Microservices Architecture

Designing and developing microservices
Familiarity with event-driven microservices architectures
Working knowledge of GRPC and Protocol Buffers

DevOps & Infrastructure

Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native apps
Knowledge of AWS (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
Basic understanding of Ansible, Terraform

Scripting & Tools

Batch, Bash scripting
Jira, Confluence

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving ability
Effective communication skills

Good-to-Have Skills

Python scripting experience
Behavior Driven Development (BDD) exposure
Integration and unit testing best practices
Experience deploying applications on AWS
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Awareness of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

AWS Certified Developer / Architect
Lightbend Akka Certification
