Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop high-performance applications using Scala.
Apply functional programming principles to build clean and maintainable code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver software solutions.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
Optimise application performance and scalability.
Maintain documentation and ensure codebase consistency.

Qualifications and Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Scala programming language.
Solid understanding of functional programming concepts.
Experience with Scala libraries and frameworks such as Cats, Akka, Play, or ZIO.
Familiarity with RESTful API development.
Good understanding of software design principles and patterns.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good to Have Skills

Basic knowledge of Spark (not mandatory).
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Exposure to containerisation tools like Docker.
Understanding of messaging systems like Kafka.
