Scala Developer

As an experienced professional with 8 to 14 years of experience, reporting directly to the VP, your role will involve: - Employing a variety of techniques to analyze problems and assess multiple solutions against engineering, business, and strategic criteria. - Identifying and resolving barriers to business deliveries by implementing solutions that iteratively deliver value. - Designing solutions using common design patterns with a range of design tools and techniques. - Conducting peer reviews to ensure that designs are fit for purpose, extensible, and reusable. - Designing and building secure and controlled solutions. - Providing leadership within a delivery team by modeling, coding, testing, and collaborating to understand requirements, create stories, design solutions, implement them, and assist in testing. Your skills and experience should include: - Being an analytical thinker, a team player, and possessing strong communication skills. - Enabling experimentation and fast learning approaches to create business solutions. - Familiarity with solution design tools. - Understanding key elements of security, risk, and control. - Demonstrated track record in identifying and making improvements to the delivery process. - Core expertise in programming languages such as Scala and Java. - Working with very large datasets using Big Data technologies like Spark, Impala, and Hive, along with a good understanding of Hadoop functioning and infrastructure. - Utilizing Data Modelling tools, Domain Driven design, and a strong knowledge of SQL and advanced data analysis to deliver high-quality code within enterprise-scale development (CI/CD). - Experience with development utilizing SDLC tools like Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, and OpenShift.
