About The Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished Quantum Solutions Sales Manager (Pharma) to lead revenue growth by selling advanced quantum-inspired and AI-powered solutions used in pharmaceutical discovery and development. This is a quota-carrying, enterprise sales role requiring a strong track record of closing complex, high-value technical engagements within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences sectors.The role focuses on identifying opportunities with pharmaceutical companies, CROs, and research institutions; engaging C-level scientific and R&D leaders; and driving adoption of quantum-enabled technologies that accelerate drug discovery, optimise molecular design, and reduce R&D time and cost.Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of, and consistently surpass, quarterly and annual sales targets
- Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities globally across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences companies.
- Strategically target key decision-makers such as Chief Scientific Officers, VPs, Heads of Computational Chemistry, and leaders in drug discovery.
- Articulate compelling value propositions to demonstrate the ways in which quantum solutions can accelerate drug discovery, optimise molecular design, and reduce R&D expenditure.
- Develop a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical workflows, including hit identification, lead optimisation, ADMET prediction, and clinical trial design.
- Collaborate closely with quantum scientists and subject matter experts to deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Effectively manage intricate sales cycles that involve multiple stakeholders from research, IT, and procurement departments.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management using CRM systems.
- Represent the company at major pharmaceutical industry events, including conferences, scientific symposiums, and customer meetings worldwide.
- Provide up-to-date market intelligence on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs in the pharmaceutical sector.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Biomedical, Computer Science, or a related technical field).
- 5–7 years of direct experience in selling AI/ML or computational solutions to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
- Demonstrated success in quota-carrying sales positions, consistently achieving sales targets within the pharmaceutical industry.
- International sales experience across multiple regions (North America, Europe, APAC, or Middle East).
- Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D processes, drug discovery workflows, and computational chemistry solutions.
- Experience in selling to pharmaceutical R&D organisations, with a clear understanding of their procurement and decision-making processes.
- Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to grasp and articulate complex scientific and business issues.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, tailored to both technical and business audiences.
- Willingness to travel extensively (30–40%).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA from a reputed institution.
- Academic background in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry, or computational biology.
- Knowledge of quantum computing applications in drug discovery and molecular simulation.
- Experience with AI/ML applications in pharmaceutical research, including molecular modelling, virtual screening, and QSAR.
- Proven ability to sell to top pharmaceutical and biotech companies (e.g., top 20 pharma or leading biotech firms).
- Understanding of regulatory considerations relevant to pharmaceutical R&D and data management.
- Experience managing sales cycles with annual contract values exceeding $1 million in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Familiarity with CROs, academic drug discovery centres, and pharmaceutical research institutes.
