Role Description

We are hiring a Safety Engineer for our civil engineering restoration project at Chennai. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety protocols, conducting site safety audits, educating the workforce on safe practices, and coordinating with our core team to maintain a secure working environment on heritage sites.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site-specific health and safety policies aligned with heritage conservation practices.
• Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and induction sessions for workers and subcontractors.
• Monitor and inspect site activities to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Investigate and report near-misses, incidents, or accidents; implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation including risk assessments, inspection records, and permit-to-work systems.
• Coordinate with project managers, civil engineers, and site supervisors to integrate safety into daily operations.
• Conduct regular safety training sessions and refresher courses for onsite teams.
• Maintain fire safety, scaffolding safety, electrical safety, and PPE compliance across the site.
• Assist in maintaining safety within heritage-sensitive zones using non-invasive and preservation-friendly safety methods.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or BE/Diploma in Civil with certified safety training.
• 3-4 years of experience in construction/project safety, preferably with exposure to heritage or civil restoration projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations (e.g., IS codes, OSHA, etc.)
• Ability to prepare and present safety reports and conduct incident root-cause analysis.
• ERP or digital documentation experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to conduct effective safety training.
• Passion for safety and attention to detail, especially in heritage-sensitive environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹36,000.00 per month
