Safety Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Safety Engineer with around 2 years of experience in the construction industry. The candidate will assist in maintaining workplace safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures for construction projects.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and internal audits.
• Identify unsafe acts or conditions and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Participate in risk assessments and preparation of safety plans.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; assist in preparing reports.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and company safety regulations.
• Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, and documentation.
• Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
• Monitor safe handling, usage, and storage of construction materials.
• Support in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
• Conduct mock drills and evacuation exercises at site.
• Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to ensure safety practices are followed.
• Liaise with external safety auditors and government authorities during inspections.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Engineer in the construction industry.
• Certification in safety management (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
• Good communication, observation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively under site conditions and deadlines.
