Safety Engineer

To ensure the effective implementation of safety systems, procedures, and standards during shutdown and maintenance activities at the thermal power plant. The Safety Officer will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting the execution team in achieving zero-incident operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor the

  site-specific Safety Management Plan

  during all phases of the shutdown.
• Conduct

  daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and work permit reviews

  before the start of activities.
• Ensure strict compliance with

  Permit-to-Work (PTW)

  systems for hot work, confined space entry, work at height, lifting, and electrical isolation.
• Perform

  Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Job Safety Analysis (HIRA/JSA)

  for all high-risk activities.
• Monitor shutdown and maintenance tasks on boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure

  LockoutTagout (LOTO)

  procedures are followed for equipment isolation and maintenance activities.
• Conduct

  regular site inspections and safety audits

  , identify unsafe acts/conditions, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee

  gas testing and confined space monitoring

  , ensuring atmospheric conditions are safe for entry.
• Maintain

  records of safety inspections, reports, incidents, and daily observations

  for client review.
• Investigate

  accidents, incidents, and near misses

  , prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and recommend preventive measures.
• Conduct

  emergency drills

  and ensure the availability of firefighting and rescue equipment at all times.
• Coordinate with client representatives, contractors, and maintenance teams to ensure

  EHS compliance

  throughout shutdown activities.
• Promote and maintain a strong

  safety culture

  and enforce the use of

  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  .
• Ensure compliance with

  statutory regulations, client safety policies, and ISO/OHSAS standards

  .
