Job Summary
The Deputy Manager - IT Infra Asset will be responsible for assisting the IT Manager in overseeing and managing the organization's IT infrastructure assets, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and availability. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, asset management, vendor liaison, and user support, playing a critical part in maintaining a robust and efficient IT environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management :
- Assist the IT Manager in the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of all IT servers and related infrastructure components.
- Ensure all IT systems are maintained to a high standard, aiming for minimum downtime for both hardware and software.
- Maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, ensuring connectivity and performance.
Asset Management
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge and accurate records of all IT infrastructure assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Utilize asset management tools and software to track, manage, and report on IT assets.
- Order necessary spares and replacements for IT hardware and software under the direction of the IT Manager.
Office 365 Administration
- Oversee the maintenance and administration of the Office 365 tenancy, including user accounts, groups, and Microsoft Teams.
- Manage day-to-day user requests related to Office 365, such as password changes, account resets, and access permissions.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide timely and effective resolution for day-to-day user IT requests and issues.
- Liaise directly with external suppliers and vendors to resolve hardware and software support issues efficiently.
- Install and maintain new software and hardware, collaborating with suppliers and contractors as required.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure that all IT systems remain secure, adhering to established security protocols and best practices.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of passwords, access credentials, and sensitive IT information.
Vendor Management
- Actively participate in vendor management, including liaising with suppliers for support, procurement, and service level agreement (SLA) adherence.
- Assist in negotiations with vendors for IT hardware, software, and services to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems, including servers, networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi), and cloud services (e.g., Office 365).
- Demonstrable experience with IT asset management principles and tools.
- Proficiency in administering Microsoft Office 365 environments (User/Group/Teams management).
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with users, colleagues, and external vendors.
- Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT issues.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and data Experience with vendor management and negotiation processes.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management and asset administration.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft 365 Certified, CompTIA A+/Network+) are a plus
