Risk Engineer

Role :

• To carry out Risk inspection in Property/ IAR/Mega/ Engineering risks where in MHDI is participating as leader / co insurer.
• To evaluate & analyse the risk & should be capable to assess all risk related exposures appropriately & appraising underwriter with feed back, concerns, favourable/ adverse risk features for taking a suitable underwriting call.
• Need to be well aware of fire fighting protection & detection systems in industry & their applications standards.
• To estimate PML & submit a separate technical report on PML of the risk to decide retention on each risk.
• To undertake post loss survey for all major losses under property & Engineering lines & come out with suggestions to avoid such losses in future along with probable cause of loss.
• Doing liaison with the surveyors at the initial stage for all major losses.
• To maintain a complete risk profile of inspected /uninspected risks of the property & Engineering books & carry out inspections through follow up with marketing.
• Take part in MIS analysis
• Analysis of claims register
• Liaison with claims team with appropriate technical feed back in major losses.
• Marine loss prevention survey & analysis as required.

Specialized skills, qualifications, experience :-

Underwriter need to drive business in preferred segments to ensure profitable growth in line with underwriting risk appetite. Risk Engineer need to weed out the adverse risks from the books to ensure healthy portfolio mix.

Qualifications And Experience:

• Graduate in any discipline in Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience in Risk Engineering
• Any additional diploma/ certificate in safety engineering area, ISO etc. will be an added advantage.
