Job Description

Role Overview:

Sales and Marketing Executive


Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Identify and generate sales opportunities across

    Indian Railways’ divisions, sheds, workshops, and production units

    .
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key decision-makers in

    Stores, Mechanical, Electrical, and Procurement departments

    .
  • Follow up on leads and convert them into successful orders through regular visits, product pitches, and presentations.

On-Ground Marketing & Product Promotion:

  • Conduct product demos and technical discussions to explain product features, benefits, and compliance with railway specifications.
  • Distribute marketing materials, catalogues, and case studies to relevant officials.

Order & Lead Management:

  • Track inquiries, quotations, and orders in coordination with the back-end team.
  • Ensure timely documentation and compliance with railway procurement procedures (GeM, IREPS, manual).

Reporting & Coordination:

  • Maintain regular reports on visit schedules, lead status, order pipeline, and competitor activities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for sample dispatch, product documentation, certifications, and delivery status.

Requirements:

  • Graduate in Engineering, Science, or Commerce; MBA preferred
  • 2–5 years of proven sales experience with Indian Railways (mandatory)

  • Strong network across zonal railways, workshops, or production units is a

    must

  • Familiarity with Indian Railway procurement processes, tendering, and vendor development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work on-ground across regions

Preferred Attributes:

  • Exposure to product categories like lubricants, consumables, mechanical components, or electrical parts used by Railways
  • Knowledge of GeM/IREPS platforms and railway vendor registration norms
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and good at relationship building
  • Basic MS Excel, Word, and reporting skills
