Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – HappieGut


Location: Shenoy Nagar

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Head of Sales / Founders

HappieGut is a fast-growing, Chennai-based functional beverage brand on a mission to make gut health delicious, accessible, and part of everyday life. We’re at the forefront of India’s probiotic revolution, starting with our premium range of kefir-based drinks. As we scale rapidly across retail and quick commerce, we’re looking for dynamic sales leaders to expand our footprint.




Role Overview


The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will lead and execute HappieGut’s sales strategy in the assigned region, driving revenue growth, expanding distribution, and building strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and key partners. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring the ability to build teams, open new markets, and ensure flawless execution at the store level.




Key Responsibilities


Sales & Revenue Growth

• Develop and execute regional sales plans aligned with national growth targets.

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.

• Identify new business opportunities in modern trade, general trade, HORECA, and quick commerce.


Distribution & Market Expansion

• Appoint and manage distributors in the region.

• Expand product availability in target outlets, including modern retail chains, independent stores, and online marketplaces.

• Ensure proper product placement, visibility, and merchandising.


Team Management

• Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales team (Sales Officers/Executives).

• Monitor individual and team KPIs, providing coaching for performance improvement.


Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, distributors, and channel stakeholders.

• Negotiate trade terms, promotions, and visibility agreements.


Market Intelligence

• Track competitor activity, pricing trends, and consumer insights.

• Provide feedback to the marketing and product development teams for continuous improvement.




Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).

• 5+ years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 2 years in a regional or area manager role.

• Proven track record in driving sales growth and managing distributor networks.

• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

• Familiarity with modern trade and general trade channels in the region.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.
