Job Description

Position Title: MEP Quantity Surveyor Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai Department: Quantity Surveying / Cost Management Reports To: Project Manager / Commercial Manager Position Summary: The MEP Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction projects. The role involves cost planning, estimating, contract administration, and ensuring that project expenditures are aligned with budgets while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates and budgetary reports for MEP systems. Review MEP design documents and ensure quantities are accurate and aligned with project specifications. Conduct material take-offs, prepare bills of quantities (BOQ), and cost breakdowns. Evaluate subcontractor quotations and provide recommendations. Monitor and control project expenditures related to MEP works. Prepare and administer contracts, including variations and claims. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams for budget and design alignment. Conduct site visits for quantity verification and progress tracking. Assist in procurement strategy and tender documentation for MEP packages. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 10-20 years of experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor in construction or consultancy firms. Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction methods. Proficient in quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX, Revit MEP). Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
