Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (QS) Civil Experience: 3–5 Years Location: Bangalore Industry: Construction Job Summary: The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring cost-effective execution of civil construction projects. The role includes preparing BOQs, rate analysis, measurement sheets, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and the project team to ensure proper cost control. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, good negotiation abilities, and hands-on experience in civil projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimates for civil works. Conduct rate analysis for materials, labour, and activities as per market standards. Perform site measurements and verify contractor bills based on actual work done. Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings (architectural, structural, and services). Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors regarding quantity and billing matters. Evaluate variation orders, additional items, and prepare cost impact reports. Monitor project budgets and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in preparation of tender documents and comparative statements. Verify material consumption vs. estimates and identify discrepancies. Liaise with procurement teams for material rate finalization and vendor selection. Prepare monthly cost reports, MIS, and cash flow projections. Ensure compliance with company standards and contract terms. Attend client and consultant meetings as required for quantity and billing discussions. Required Skills & Qualifications:Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering. 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil construction projects. Strong knowledge of estimation, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Office; knowledge of estimation software is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret civil drawings in detail. Good mathematical, analytical, and documentation skills. Strong negotiation and coordination abilities. Understanding of contractual terms and billing procedures. Preferred Attributes: Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks. High attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations. Knowledge of relevant IS codes and market rates.
