Quality Inspector

Position: Quality Inspector
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Reports to: Quality Manager / Production Head

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to ensure that all sheet metal and fabrication products meet company and customer quality standards. The role involves inspection, testing, and documentation of incoming, in-process, and finished components to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect sheet metal and fabricated components at different stages of production (incoming, in-process, final).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Weld Gauges, and Surface Plates.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and weld inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Record inspection results, prepare inspection reports, rejection reports, and maintain quality documentation.
• Coordinate with production teams to highlight non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Assist in root cause analysis and suggest improvements to minimize defects.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/TS/AS standards (if applicable).
• Monitor and maintain calibration of measuring instruments.
• Support customer audits and internal quality audits.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques in sheet metal and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments and gauges.
• Knowledge of welding standards, fabrication processes, and finishing operations.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF standards is an added advantage.
• Good documentation and reporting skills (MS Excel/ERP knowledge preferred).
• Attention to detail and ability to identify defects quickly.
• Good communication and coordination skills with shop-floor teams.

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification: ITI / Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years in Quality Inspection (Sheet Metal & Fabrication industry).
• Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
