Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and meticulous Head of Quality to lead our Quality Assurance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the sheet metal stamping industry, specifically within an automotive or similar manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure our products consistently meet and exceed customer expectations and industry standards, with a strong focus on IATF 16949 compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System (QMS):Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the company's QMS in strict accordance with IATF 16949 standards.Ensure all quality policies, procedures, and processes are documented, controlled, and effectively implemented across the organization.Oversee all internal and external audits, including certification audits (IATF, ISO), supplier audits, and customer audits.Team Leadership & Development:Manage and mentor the entire quality team, including Quality Assurance engineers and Quality Control inspectors.Set departmental objectives, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.Organize training programs to enhance the team's understanding of quality standards, tools, and methodologies.Process & Product Quality Control:Ensure robust quality control processes are in place from incoming raw materials to final product dispatch.Champion the use of core quality tools, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).Oversee the calibration and maintenance schedule for all measuring and inspection equipment.Customer Focus & Problem Solving:Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on all quality-related matters, including complaints, audits, and quality performance.Lead root cause analysis for non-conformances using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams).Implement effective and sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of issues.Reporting & Analysis:Monitor, analyze, and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), PPM, scrap rates, and first-pass yield.Present quality metrics and improvement plans to senior management on a regular basis.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.Experience:A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a quality management role.Direct and proven experience in the sheet metal stamping industry is mandatory. Experience with stamping, deep-draw, forming, welding, and laser cutting processes is highly desirable.Certifications & Standards:Expert-level knowledge of IATF 16949 is essential. A certified IATF 16949 internal or lead auditor qualification is highly preferred.Thorough understanding and practical application of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.Skills:Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management abilities.Excellent analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsExperience working directly with major automotive OEMs & Tier-1.Familiarity with other relevant standards like ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
